Register for our new Preschool Artistry Program!
The Preschool Artistry Program is an all immersive experience that will encourage your child to explore the three facets of the performing arts; music, dance, and theater. Not only will this enhance creativity but it will aid in your child's growth and development. Led by a certified early educator, your child will not only leave with an appreciation for the arts but other age appropriate skills needed to be successful in their educational journey. We strive to meet the needs of the whole child while providing opportunities to foster freedom of expression.
Learning Stations
Learning stations allow students to explore a variety of age appropriate tasks that speak to all learner types. This is accomplished through self-directed learning, an instructional approach that works to build interdependence as students freely choose which activities interest them most. Learning stations will be standard based as well as integrated with an arts curriculum - an early learner framework influenced by movement, music, theater and art to promote an appreciation for the arts in young children. The goal of this structured time is for students to learn through play in order to meet typical age expectancies.
Circle
Circle is a developmentally appropriate instructional time in which students receive a guided whole group experience. This teacher-led meeting is set aside for students to explore different thematic units that incorporate creative arts, math, cognitive tasks, science, language, literacy, social studies, physical health and motor development and social/emotional concepts appropriate for preschool aged children. These domains significantly impact a child’s growth and development as well as future academic success. The goal of center time is for students to receive a strong foundation in each related content area. Post circle, students will engage in a hands-on activity that corresponds with the subject of that day.
Snack
Students will practice proper hygiene by washing hands before and after mealtime. A snack will be provided for students per the studio however, families may pack their own if they so choose. Staff will practice health and safety protocols by ensuring surfaces are disinfected before and after eating. Additionally, we will take any necessary precautions needed to accommodate for potential food allergies and/or sensitivities. Snack will also be a designated bathroom break. Children must be potty trained to participate in the program.
Creative Movement
The last part of the artistry program is creative movement. Creative movement is an integral part of what makes this program so unique, it is the crux of the early learner arts curriculum. Students will explore the world of performing arts i.e. music, dance, and theater to build an appreciation as well as an understanding for its importance. The goal is for your early learner to develop their own artistic voice while reaping the MANY benefits the arts have to offer; motor development, inventiveness, problem solving, spatial awareness, language skills, social skills, decision making, emotional development and a whole host of other valuable reasons.
